Greetings from the Pacific Northwest!
I’ve called eight states home in my 50+ years going around the sun and Washington is my favorite. I am a mountain girl and from where we live now I have views of the Cascades and the Olympics. A clear day shows off Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier! God knew this place would bring healing to our hearts and leave us in awe at His creation on a regular basis. Days off of work find us walking a stretch of beach, chasing orcas, on a forest trail, or driving up to Canada. And all two hours or less from our front door. We are so grateful to be here.
The last 28 years have been spent married to my best friend. We met in Portland, where I attended Concordia University, and he was in a local sheriff’s academy. We have one child, our son, and we are having so much fun in our front row seats to his career in wildland firefighting. And we sure love the one he loves. We also have Gritt the Wee 💩, our super cute mutt.
There’s never been a time in my life when I didn’t know and love Jesus. I believe He is who He says He is, and did what He says He did. I love the truth of God’s Word. I grew up a pastor’s kid in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod - but definitely not what one would call typical LCMS upbringing, thanks to my dad. More on my dad and I can be found here. I love finding the Hebrew and Greek word definitions as I study the Word - they make Scripture breathe for me. There are many years of ministry under my belt, some youth, mostly women’s. In it all I’ve asked that God keep any shortcomings of mine out of the way, and that’s my prayer here too.
Thank you for being here. Can’t wait to see what God has in store. We know it will be for our good and His glory
With joy…Kristin
Hello! It is nice to meet you. I want to get to know you too, so be sure to leave a comment introducing yourself.
I live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, but grew up in Fenton, St. Louis County, Missouri. I have been married 39 years to this really crazy, goofy guy. We had three sons and five grandchildren. However, little granddaughter Abigail only lived 6 days, but was beautiful in every way.
We are empty nesters and my dogs are two Toy Fox Terriers named Ria Skye and Miss Tizzy. They bring us SO much joy!
I am a life-long LCMS’r, as the phrase is often said. That is an abbreviation for Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. I welcome folks of all denominations to read and follow along and promise to keep my writings as acceptable to all denominations as possible. I do know when I read others who write about faith, I always want to know what their beliefs are, so I wanted to be as up front as possible here with you.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in business education and a two year certificate in legal secretarial studies. I feel one of my top accomplishments in life is obtaining those two degrees in 3 1/2 years, while working full time, never taking out a loan, paying for it all myself, all while supporting myself. Where has all that energy gone?
Upon my 21st birthday long ago in July, I kicked off life in a hurry. I was married in August, bought our home in October, graduated in December, and gave birth to my first son in May. Again, where as all that energy gone?
I have many hobbies, including camping, hiking, spending time in the great outdoors, gardening mostly flowers, photography, travel, tea connoisseur, genealogy, cooking and baking, sewing, hand-sewing, crafts, decorating and so much more. I cannot seem to find the time to do it all.
You can find me on my website called My Corner Online | My Corner Online Substack | Facebook | Personal Facebook | Instagram | Youtube, and other link at the bottom of my website pages.
I look forward to seeing you around online.

I had not read yours yet! Look at you and all those fabulous photos, Kristin!
I suspected for a long time that Cheryl was LCMS. I've been a lifelong one too. I'm planning to share this post with my church sisters on Facebook and encourage them to follow your writings. You are off to a great start, and I'm looking forward to where this goes.
